The Soulweaver by Heidi Catherine || Blog Tour Review with Giveaway

She’s loved and lost him a hundred times across a thousand years. She can’t bear to lose him again.

Lin’s dreams are haunted by faces of people she’s never met. Unable to shake the feeling she’s lived before, she’s drawn to Reinier—a stranger whose soul is heartbreakingly familiar from a time gone by.

Reinier helps Lin unravel the mystery of her past life as Hannah, a girl who sacrificed herself for her true love, Matthew. As Lin falls hopelessly in love with Reinier, her memories of her life as Hannah sharpen and she finds herself unable to let go of Matthew.

With her heart torn in two, Lin must decide whether she should stand by Reinier’s side or track down Matthew and fight for his love. What she doesn’t know is that her decision will ripple across our troubled planet, affecting far more lives than just her own.

Winner of Romance Writers of Australia’s Emerald Pro award, The Soulweaver is a story that will change the way you see the world.

book review rating 4 out of 5

IT'S JUST WHAT I'd hoped for, and a bit of something more. The Soulweaver, by Heidi Catherine, is a clean, contemporary romance about love and longing. It’s a thoughtful story that shows just how boundless love can be and how it feels to have the heart divided.

For as long as Lin can remember, she’s dreamt of faces and places with haunting clarity despite having never stepped out of her Chinese community. It isn’t until Reinier, a strange whose soul feels achingly familiar, helps Lin unravel the mysteries of a time gone by. Her decision to discern the truth about her past will weave together two souls across many lifetimes, as well uncover a few other mysteries.

I’ve always romanticized that there is more than just this one life. Although no one can know for sure what happens to us after we die, The Soulweaver presents a perspective that dovetails with many schools of teaching and will likely be relatable for most readers encouraging them to delve deeper. However, I felt that its dense integration of evolution, reincarnation, and religion were at times too much and took away from Lin and Reinier’s story.

On the other hand, Ms. Catherine’s style of romance inescapably drew me in. The feeling of longing was built up to a tearful point, and all in such a clean and tasteful manner. It is a luminous portrayal of passion and sacrafice—all held together by the allure and intrigue of two beautiful souls. I enjoyed The Soulweaver!
